When I visited my sister Sandy last week, the luggage rack in the guest room was woefully tattered. An easy fix! I had an assortment of ribbons with me and Sandy chose the claret Pears. I sewed on a pale pear green satin backing ribbon of the same width, cut the ribbon into 20" lengths, and Sandy stapled them back on the rack. Done in less than 30 minutes!

Looks wonderful! What a great replacement, and I'm sure it fits with the room's furnishings better than the old one.
ReplyDeleteWish the hotels had the same sense of style!
ReplyDeleteOOOHH It gave me an idea to weave the bottom of my chair with ribbon, But would it be sturdy enough? I must think more about this idea.

I think you could probably do that: what I would do is weave them and then sew it all down to a backing fabric for strength and to keep them from slipping apart. This ribbon is very strong and most of the designs have durable weaves.
